Patent je vylucne pravo udelene na vynalez, coz je vyrobek nebo postup, ktery obecne poskytuje novy zpusob, jak neco udelat, nebo nabizi nove technicke reseni problemu. Pro ziskani patentu musi byt technicke informace o vynalezu zverejneny v patentove prihlasce. Patenty jsou Uzemni prava. Obecne plati, ze vylucna prava jsou pouzitelna pouze v zemich nebo regionech, ve kterych byl patent podan a udelen, a to v souladu s pravem dane zeme nebo regionu. (https://www.wipo.int/patents/en/)
