LANGUAGE	TERM	Tape yarn
EN CZ NL PT RO SI	DEFINITION	Tape yarn or ribbon yarn is a novelty yarn. In this the thickness of the yarn is some orders larger than the height of the yarn. Tape yarns are often used in technical textiles to allow to quickly create fabrics. The fibers used in the tape yarns can be of all types of materials. For composite construction, carbon fiber tape yarns are commonly used.
