DEFINITION | Industrial Property designates a set of protection rights among which are invention patents, utility models, trademarks, designs or models, service marks, commercial names and designations and insignia, logos, designations of origin and geographical indications, among others, referred to as Modalities of Industrial Property. Industrial Property together with Copyright, constitute Intellectual Property, which refers to the creations of the human spirit, such as inventions, as well as artistic and literary works. The object of Industrial Property is to protect inventions and aesthetic creations (design), with industrial application, and the distinctive signs of commerce, to distinguish products and companies. |
