LANGUAGE	TERM	Universiteits spin-off
EN CZ NL PT RO SI	DEFINITION	Een spin-off van de universiteit is een bedrijf dat door onderzoekers is opgericht om de resultaten van hun eigen onderzoeksactiviteiten en wetenschappelijke kennis te verbeteren, waarbij de universiteit een partner kan zijn. Onderzoekers delen als partners de winst. Juridisch gezien is een spin-off niet anders dan een gewone onderneming. Het bijzondere van spin-offs ligt in het feit dat ze worden gepromoot, gecreeerd en ontwikkeld door een of meer mensen die een nauwe relatie hebben met de onderzoekswereld en de knowhow die binnen onderzoeksorganisaties is ontwikkeld, gebruiken in hun zakelijke activiteiten.
