LANGUAGE	TERM	Octrooi (Patent)
EN CZ NL PT RO SI	DEFINITION	Een octrooi is een exclusief recht dat wordt verleend voor een uitvinding, een product of een proces dat in het algemeen een nieuwe manier biedt om iets te doen, of een nieuwe technische oplossing voor een probleem biedt. Om een octrooi te krijgen, moet technische informatie over de uitvinding openbaar worden gemaakt in een octrooiaanvraag. Octrooien zijn territoriale rechten. In het algemeen zijn de exclusieve rechten alleen van toepassing in de landen of regio"s waar een octrooi is ingediend en verleend, in overeenstemming met de wetgeving van dat land of die regio.
