A textura no âmbito dos tecidos é o acabamento superficial de um tecido. Também lhe chamamos topografia superficial. Descreve a natureza da superfície, tal como definida pelo padrão de superfície predominante, a aspereza superficial (as irregularidades da superfície) e a ondulação (irregularidades com espaçamento superior à rugosidade da superfície). Cada tecido tem a sua própria textura, mas é muito difícil representá-lo corretamente no software, requerendo aproximações para obter, por exemplo, uma boa imagem simulada de um tecido.
A textura determinará como a luz reflete num tecido, e como o tecido se sente ao toque.
