This Glossary is meant to offer the students support for learning key textile terms of the 6 educational modules in all the languages of the project.
LANGUAGE	TERM	Microtoom microscopie afbeelding
EN CZ NL PT RO SI	DEFINITION	Een afbeelding van een doorsnede door een materiaal, verkregen na gebruik van een microtoom. Een microtoom is een snijgereedschap om extreem dunne plakjes te maken van een materiaal, secties genoemd. Deze kunnen vervolgens worden gefotografeerd, bijvoorbeeld met een camera die op een microscoop is gemonteerd. Om dunne coupes te verkrijgen voor microscopie-analyse, wordt de stof eerst ingebed in een transparante hars die wordt uitgehard. De resulterende stijve structuur kan vervolgens worden gesneden met de microtoom.
